We took a trip to the Evergreen State Fair at the end of August. We enjoyed the yummy Fair food; gyros, a jumbo corn dog, scones, waffle cake, lemonade, cotton candy and shoe string French fries.
We loved going through all the animal barns. We saw the beef cows, dairy cows, horses, chickens, rabbits, sheep, pigs, dogs, and lots of information booths ;) We watched a judging and a Draft horse show in the arena. It was amazing to see those huge, beautiful creatures work so well as a team. We only got this picture of Natale with the week old calf at the Fair. Looking forward to next year!!
The First weekend in October the Farms in Skagit County open their facilities to show the public what they are all about. There are about 12
+ farms. We have done this tour a few years now and know which ones are the best to go to....The BEEF COW farms...Best food samples!!
GIANT Marshmallows!!
These are Hemlock Highland Beef Cattle and a 5 week old calf....too CUTE
We enjoyed a hay ride, BBQ sandwiches, a sunny afternoon, and good company with Grandpa Joe. Several of the Farms on the Tour include; Hemlock Highlands Cattle Farm, Taylor Shell Fish, South Fork Farms, Golden Glen Creamery, Eagle Haven Winery and many more. Check out their website for next year. http://www.festivaloffamilyfarms.com/
